Taking a Turn to...
Listen with Compassion

Adhearing to the needs of others
Today, Tomorrow, Everyday...

Hello friends, clients and family,

Is your life these days becoming more intense with both sides of the proverbial coin:
Goodness and Fear?
Resentment and Gratitude?
Certainty and Mystery?

What do you call your coin?
Is it polished or tarnished?
A little bit of both?

My coin's Heads side (polished) looks like this:
A side shot of my face, flushed, excited and feeling a rush of pleasure - being alive, aware and in awe of every morsel of life -

I'm humming and singing and person after person seems to interact with me in genuine connectedness.

The Tails side (tarnished) shows me in shadow - dark, trembling and asking "What is this world coming to?"
Will I be safe and have enough, and what about my loved ones - will THEY be okay?

My standby, my return to center , my balancing of the coin on its edge so I can show the world all sides of me - how do I accomplish this?

I think and talk and write out loud.
And I take a turn to listen with compassion to the needs of others.

As long as I am engaged in the process of deep and caring speaking and listening,
I feel a sense of contributing to business people, families and friends.

And finally I experience peace of mind. I have everything I need.

And I'm happy to share with you the bounty of my silver coin.

What about you?
Do you get refreshed when you do these things?
Do you ever finally stand up and declare - enough of being in my head - I'm going for a run or for a laugh or a cry.
And say to the world, "I will allow all of my feelings and ideals to be alive and I will surround myself with others whom I can trust."

I am refreshed today as I prepare to enter Newton-Wellesley hospital for my fourth surgery to acquire a new prosthetic hip joint.

I have been somewhat topsy-turvy in the last 9 months but finally I can stand balanced, (heads up, tails down) clear of infection and angst and be hopeful for a stronger future.

Dr. Snyder will perform the 3 hour procedure on Friday December 12 at 11:15 am. I will be recovering and rehabilitating there for the weekend and returning to Colleen's in Billerica soon after.

Please don't hesitate to call me at the hospital on my cell phone (617- 491-8939) in the next few days. I may not be able to speak too many words, but I know I will feel much healing power by listening to you and hearing the sound of your voice.

In celebration of my new hip, my restored health and our upcoming New Year together, Colleen and I are hosting a party at the Villas at 4 Riverhurst in Billerica Mass. on Saturday, January 17, 2009.

There will be movies in the Clubhouse Theatre and authentic movie-theatre popcorn and a cozy fire in the fireplace and Hot Chocolate, Potluck and Board Games.

And you are invited to see our 1,2, and 3 bedroom apartments here at the Villas (4 and 5 Riverhurst) And maybe you'll consider becoming our neighbors in Apartment Land with Summertime Pool, Year Round Clubhouse and Gym...
(there's a referral fee incentive to be included in there too...)

We'll keep you posted with more details after the holidays...
And always feel free to email me for more info or with questions...

Are you having any events that you would like to have posted? Is there a position at work you're trying to fill? Or are you yourself looking for work? Please let me know.
